Head Coach Brad Childress Says, “The Vikings Will Suck Next Season!” January 2, 2007

Okay, while Childress didn’t say that dircetly, he did say QB Tarvaris Jackson and QB Brooks Bollinger will compete for the team’s starting quarterback job next year. Translation, the Vikings will suck next season. It will take a lot of poison pill clauses in FA contracts (Steve Hutchinson sucks) to fix this mess.
Jackson threw for 475 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions this season after replacing Brad Johnson as the team’s starting QB. Jackson’s QB rating was an ugly 62.5. Bollinger is a four year veteran who has a career passer rating of 72.9.
The Vikings went 6-10 in Childress’ first season as a head coach in the NFL. It shouldn’t be too hard to improve on that record, playing in the NFC North. With Jackson or Bollinger as your QB though, things could get ugly.
